Christmas Eve - Tuesday 24th December
Join us for traditional afternoon tea in the sitting room, while relaxing in front of the crackling log fire. Before dinner we will gather in the sitting room and bar for a Champagne reception where you'll meet your hosts and fellow guests while local carol singers add a festive touch from years gone by. Dinner will be served in our oak-panelled restaurants, with mixed tables for a real house party atmosphere.
After dinner you might like to attend Midnight Mass in Cuckfield's beautiful Norman Holy
Trinity Church, just a few
minutes' walk into the village. When you return you can enjoy the last moments of Christmas Eve with mulled wine,
warm mince pies and roasted chestnuts in the sitting room
Christmas Day - Wednesday 25th December
We will be serving a leisurely continental breakfast in the dining room, including a fresh fruit platter and freshly baked pastries. Room service is available if you'd rather spend the first hours cosseted in your room.
Champagne or kir royale are our aperitifs before a splendid six-course traditional
luncheon, and if you've left enough room we'll serve you tea and homemade Christmas cake
mid-afternoon. A range of board games is available to remind you of less hectic Christmases past.
A delicious light buffet supper is offered in the evening, accompanied by a festive repertoire performed by our
local harpist. A fitting finale to end a special day.
Boxing Day - Thursday 26th December
It's a day for getting out and about, so we'll be serving a hearty champagne English breakfast. There's plenty to keep you busy: a visit to the Bluebell Railway or Wakehurst Place, or one of the celebrated local walks around Cuckfield. Upon your return in the afternoon we will serve afternoon tea and Christmas cake.
Lunch is not included today. If you wish to dine with us at lunchtime a reservation is essential. Champagne cocktails in the bar mark the start of our black tie gourmet dinner, inclusive of wines, held around mixed tables in the Ockenden Suite. Our magician will keep you transfixed throughout the meal.
Friday 27th December
Unless our outstanding rates have enticed you to extend your stay, it's time to bid
a fond farewell; we're confident you'll leave sated, satisfied and thinking about Christmas
2013 already.
