Originally a coaching
Inn to the visiting aristocracy, The Spread Eagle
Hotel dates back in parts to 1430. Walking through
the hotel is like a journey in time, with its
14th century lounge, warmed by huge fire places
and Tudor bread ovens, above which is the Queens
room, said to have accommodated Elizabeth I .
On through the sentried hallway to the Restaurant
with its inglenook fireplace & Christmas puddings
hanging from the beams.
Set in the
historic town of Midhurst, The hotel has a close
association with Cowdray Park Polo, and Goodwood
racecourse, for the equestrian-minded.
For those
that like an even faster pace the motor racing
circuit and aerodrome at Goodwood offer a range
of thrills from racing your own Cobra, to loop-
the-looping in a Tiger moth !
Be our guest. Unwind over morning
coffee or afternoon tea. Savour each moment and
soak up the atmosphere, as timeless as it is totally
relaxing. From sofas that seem to wrap you in
their arms to finishing touches tailor-made to
enchant. The Spread Eagle is special.
