Entirely walled in fine panelling, this beautiful room with its impressive four-poster bed dates back to 1650.
The White Room overlooks the front of the hotel with two beautiful sash windows with seats. Bright and spacious, it is perfect for a romantic week-end or for a moment of tranquility.
The White Room has a secret passageway from the room leading up over the roof which was used by smugglers in the 17th century, as well as a ‘priest’s hole’ which was used by Catholics hiding from persecutors at the beginning of Queen’s Elizabeth I’s reign.
We encourage guests to arrive early and leave late in order to fully enjoy everything The Spread Eagle has to offer:
The Queen's Suite has a stunning carved four-poster bed, sitting room and a luxurious bathroom. It can be connected to the adjoining Edward VII lounge creating an impressive and spacious living space.
