The Al Shira'aa Hickstead Derby Meeting, 24–27 June 2027
This is the main event of the Hickstead season and one of the most famous showjumping competitions in Britain.
The Hickstead Derby was first held in 1961 and is one of the most demanding classes in all of showjumping. What sets it apart from any other courses is the challenging natural terrain riders must navigate.
The course includes a fearsome 10 ft 6 Derby Bank, the notoriously tricky Devil's Dyke combination, and one of the widest water jumps in showjumping.
The Derby Meeting combines international competition with showing classes, scurry driving, a large shopping village, family entertainment and a funfair, making it every bit as enjoyable for non-equestrian visitors as it is for seasoned fans.
Hospitality options include street food and casual bars right through to fine dining overlooking the International Arena, ensuring that every visit is as relaxed or as indulgent as you want it to be.
The Agria Royal International Horse Show, 27 July–1 August 2027
The Royal International Horse Show brings together the very best horses and riders from across the UK and beyond.
The event features top-tier showjumping, including the prestigious King George V Gold Cup, the Queen Elizabeth II Cup and the Agria Nations Cup of Great Britain, alongside championship showing classes, arena eventing and scurry driving. If you can only attend one Hickstead horse show this summer, this six-day spectacle is a strong contender.
The Al Shira'aa British Young Horse Championships, 12–15 August 2027
A key date for breeders, producers and those with an eye on the future of British equestrian sport.
The British Young Horse Championships provide a platform for promising young horses to be evaluated against the nation's best, with championship titles across four age categories, from four- to seven-year-olds, and a total prize fund of over £80,000.
The Finals also double as the UK qualifier for the World Breeding Championship for Young Horses in Lanaken, Belgium.
Best of all, admission and parking are free for the full four days.
The Hurst National Schools Jumping Championships, 31 August 2027
Free admission makes this a fantastic outing for families and young riders.
The National Schools Jumping Championships celebrate the next generation of equestrian talent, with junior and senior school teams competing on the same historic turf that launched riders like Pippa Funnell and Robert Whitaker.
Now in its 62nd year, the atmosphere is warm and inclusive, and, as ever, admission and parking are completely free.
The All England September Tour: 1–5 & 8–12 September 2027
The September Tour rounds off the season.
Two weeks of competitive showjumping across a broad range of classes and levels, from 90cm right up to 1.40m Grand Prix, giving a wide range of riders the chance to compete at one of the sport's most iconic venues.
Best of all, admission and parking are free throughout both weeks.
