A 24-hour escape from London

The perfect 24 hour coolcation..

11am: Board train from London (Victoria or London Bridge to Haywards Heath - there are plenty of taxis at the station for the short journey to the hotel), or jump in the car and head down the M23 to find Ockenden Manor Hotel & Spa in the pretty village of Cuckfield.

12pm: Arrive at Ockenden Manor, come and say hello to the team and drop bags with us. Refreshen up ready to explore.

12.30pm: Stroll out of our door, wander through the Sussex countryside (armed with a map - the walk is just 3km - and you can always arrange a cab for the return journey) to arrive at Highweald Vineyard for a glass of Sussex, and a tour and tasting*

3pm: Wander back to Ockenden Manor to check-in to your bedroom and then disappear into our beautiful spa. Take a refreshing dip in the outdoor swimming pool and relax.

Next comes some serious Me-Time: succumb to a few hours of pure indulgence, book a glorious Made for Life spa treatment, rehydrate with a fresh fruit smoothie. Read a book without having to stop half way through the chapter. Enjoy bubbles in the outdoor hottub and gaze at the sky while lounging on the roof terrace.

6pm: Leisurely preparations for a dinner to remember - it's aperitif hour on the terrace - perhaps another glass of chilled Sussex wine or a Sussex negroni?

From 7pm: Gastronomic bliss with dinner from our Sussex Menu in Ockenden Manor's restaurant.

Bedtime: Retire for a deeply comfortable night's sleep - the optimum 8 hours.

Wake-up: Ready for the day and refuel with a sumptuous breakfast, then spend a quiet moment or two our award-winning spa.

11am: Check out and travel back to The Big Smoke feeling refreshed and ready for anything.
