2026 History Walk: Mon 7th Sept

A gentle wander from the Hotel, through centuries of local heritage - from medieval ruins and Tudor architecture to literary landmarks and royal connections before heading back for a delicious lunch. As you stroll along cobbled streets and scenic paths, your guide will bring Midhurst's history and heritage to life with interesting insights, engaging stories, and a deep knowledge of the South Downs landscape. Perfect for history lovers & curious explorers.

2026 Nature Walk: Wed 7th Oct

This meandering route from the Hotel, will wind through Midhurst Common and along the River Rother, through ancient woodland, open meadows, tranquil ponds and heathland rich in wildlife - with rolling South Downs views as the backdrop. Whether you enjoy birdwatching, the scent of seasonal wildflowers, or simply soaking in the fresh air, this nature walk offers a refreshing escape into a landscape and habitat which is rarer than the rainforest.

What's included?

  • Arrive at 9.15am for tea, coffee and biscuits
  • Head out for a two and half hour guided walk through the Sussex countryside
  • Return to the hotel at approx. 12h30 for a delicious two-course group lunch with your guide in the restaurant
