Come and enjoy the warmth and buzz of The Black Horse, install yourself by the fire, in a quiet nook or join the bustling bar where you'll find an interesting choice of craft beers, fine ales, Sussex wine, locally inspired cocktails and pub classics. Wellies and wine, a post beach-walk beer, second breakfast, a lively clymping night out - all welcome!
The same menus are available in both the bar and the Ryebank - we recommend booking a table in the Ryebank .Tables in the bar are first come, first served. Gluten free options are available, please ask a member of the team.
Craft beers & fine ales
Our bar forms the heart of the pub, with it's long pewter counter, deep sofas and cosy corners. You'll find a familiar selection of ales, craft beer and our very own Black Horse IPA, as well as draught cider, locally brewed.
And of course sparkling wine from a local Sussex vineyard.

Our full flavour menus, inspired by the seasons, bursting with traditional pub favourites and local ingredients, specials include some delicious signature dishes such as our Spicy Guinness and Sussex Charmer soup and Climping beach fish pie.

Freshly made to order, inspired by the area, created and crafted by the team, and all served with a twist of Sussex.
Try our Black Horse Bramble made with Brighton Gin, or how about a Long Island Iced Tea, made just slightly differently. Perhaps an After 8pm will tempt you, with creme de menthe and Baileys. Or go for our take on a classic: a Sussex Sling.
